Domain Registration 

GoDaddy is the cheapest and best-known domain registrar out there. No matter where I get the idea for a domain name from, I always register it with GoDaddy.

Their prices are reasonable and they accept many currencies. Important for those who live overseas.

I had a problem with the billing with them in late May of 2009. They fixed it within 24 hours. So you know the service is up to par.

Hostgator 

Hosting

Ed Dale of Underachiever infamy recommended these guys to me when I did the Thirty Day Challenge. I took his advice, and have never looked back.

Hostgator is the best value-for-money Hosting service I have found so far. They use cPanel, which I'm told is industry standard, and the service is pretty responsive.

If you're blogging with Wordpress or using a Content Management System like Drupal or Joomla, they have some fancy software that can install it for you, which is great for newbies like me.

Try it for yourself and see if they're what you need.

Frustrated with Dreamweaver? Or maybe you're like me and couldn't really afford it to begin with. While that's all changed now, I've learned so much about web design from using XSitePro without the frustration of not having a website up and running.
